My wife and I have been in Scout since our school years. But, this is the first time I joined the camp in which my wife was organising. The camp was done in relation to the World Scout Day celebration that marked the 100 years of Scout establishment in Sarawak.
[My wife and I]
The camp took place in Kampung Danu, Padawan, 40-50 minutes drive from Kuching city. It was only a one night and two days camp. So the activities were short and simple.
To save time, students were asked to use the ready-made tents instead of DIY tents.
That night, we had a campfire. Students were entertained with traditional dances performed by the residents of Kpg Danu and later that night, the students had games and performances, while the teachers were busy barbecuing.
[Early morning exercise]
As they woke up from sleep that morning, they had a light exercise. I believe they called it as “senamrobik”.
[Lesson on raising the flag]
They also learned the customs for raising Scout flags.
And finally, we had a photo session. I didn’t join because I was the photographer. Hahaha!
