Honest, Active, Intelligent and Generous

My students tend to forget what they’ve learned in class even simple vocabulary like Honest, Generous, Active and Intelligent. So, I’ve decided to make a simple activity to help them remember those words and their meanings.

First, I wrote those words on coloured papers.

Then, I explained to them the meaning of each word.

After that, I asked students to put smiley stickers on words which they think are important to them. The students got to move around the classroom.

So here are the results;

Many of my 3D students chose being Active as very important. When I checked with them, it turned out that many of them were school athletes. It’s interesting to discover what they put their priorities on right?

Meanwhile, my 3B students chose being Honest as important. Do you want to know why? I think most of them, at the age of 15, were actively looking for someone to love or be loved. So, they thought that honesty is important in their relationships. By the way, not many of them were athletes.

The advantage of this activity was to make the lesson interesting. Instead of using dictionaries to discover the meanings of these words,   students got do some thinking and moving around the classroom.

Alright then. Have a nice day yeah?
